Hello,

Im looking for some info on way to connect 4 2.5 harddrive to eather a USB (Only using one USB port) or Firewire 800 (Only using one Firewire Port) on my Labtop computer. If any one know of away, Please let me know.

Im not sure if just running though a usb hub would work? and what the downside would be slowing? and is there a better way to do this.

Thank you!!

To use USB hubs on a laptop they MUST be a powered hub. An unpowered one will not work. Laptops cannot supply enough juice for them.
In theory you then put the hard drives into appropriate enclosures and plug them into a USB port. However this may not work for hard drives and you may need to connect them to the actual USB ports on the laptop itself.
