Hello. The other day my computer was infected with spyware so I followed the Geeks to Go instructions (ie, run "clean up", "ad-aware se", etc). After running all of the cited programs my computer seemed to work fine. However, just to ensure that everything was ok, I ran two more "ewido" scans several hours apart and both scans reported spyware. Fearing that I had done something wrong when I followed the Geeks to Go instructions or had contracted spyware again, I ran through the entire process once more. No problems were reported....so does this mean that my computer is protected from spyware? If so, why did a Symantec computer scan just show that I have problems: dialer.generic and adware.minibug? Help?!

Also, is it ok to run Microsoft Antispyware (beta 1) in addition to spyblaster?

Thanks!
Pcorps

Hi usetobe,

Thanks for writing. Fortunately, I was able to resolve the problem by running the suggested programs (spybot, ewido, etc) several times.

Thanks,

Thanks for the offer, but the problem was with a family member's computer that I no longer have access to because I'm in a different city. Nevertheless, for my own edification, I'd like to learn how to read an HJT report. Can you recommend any sites that explain how to read an HJT report?

Thanks.
