I have been trying to help a friend remove numerous viruses and trojans from his computer but we cant get them all. We have ran Avast, Malwarebytes and Spybot. System is XP Home with Srv pack 2. Can not update get the following errors when try to update 0x8024d007 then follow the Microsoft fix and try update again and get error 0x800a138f. Then cannot start the Background Intelligent Transfer Service. Computer is running extremely slow. Also, My Docs and Dell folder starts at reboot. Im sure the reg keys are messed up now as well. Also, the webpage always sets to http://go.microsoft/...k/?linkid=69157 before it goes to the MSN homepage. I will reset the homepage to Yahoo and when I reboot it always reverts back to http://go.microsoft/...k/?linkid=69157 for about 20 seconds then proceeds to MSN.COM
What is the best way to get rid of all the trojans, malware, viruses etc and reset the registry? Your advise greatly appreciated.
