Dell Dimension E521 XP SP3 with 2x512 memory works correctly.
Tried adding (2) Super Talent T667UB1GV STT DDR2-667 PC5300 1G/64X8 CL5 sticks of memory.
No matter what configuration, only get tone or beep. Tried with old memory, without old memory, in every slot, only 1 stick or both sticks and only tone.
Done some research but nothing I have tried works so far.

Sorry to ask on Christmas day.

Thanks in advance, David

Hi David. Just to clarify, the system works with the original memory installed?

Usually just getting a beep code is an indication of a memory problem.
Have a look HERE for your manual and the beep codes.

I tend to believe the ram is either incompatible or bad out of box.
Did you use proper grounding when installing and removing the ram?

Take a look here for what is suggested.
Go to HERE and run the Crucial online scanner.
This will give you the exact memory configuration for your system. You do not have to buy the memory from there, but write down the information and if you need assistance in purchasing the upgrade memory GTG can assist with suggestions also.

One stick does actually work, I sent the other back to the seller for replacement.

Thanks and Happy New Year

Thank you for the update and it is not uncommon to have something like this happen. Be patient and everything will work out in the end. Please let us know how it works once you get the replacement memory.
