Associating a file type (.pps)

I just started using Windows Live Mail. I downloaded Microsoft Office Powerpoint Viewer 7 the other day and it worked fine to open .pps files in Concasts' e-mail program. When I switched to Live Mail on my Windows 7 machine and tried to open a .pps presentation, a box came up that said there was no program associated with that file type. So I went to Start/Default Programs and scrolled down to .pps and sure as heck, it has MS Office Powerpoint Viewer next to it as the associated Program. Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks!
