I was installing office 08 on my old Mac and because I had not updated it in a long time it told me that it needed some newer version. However, when I told it to eject my CD it would tell me that it is in use. I tried the eject button on the keyboard, and dragging it to the trash. I restarted and when I tried to eject it after boot up but nothing. Does anybody have any suggestions on how I can get my CD back. :)

Does your cd player have a little hole in the front of it?
Take a straightened paper clip and stick it in the hole. It will release the door and allow you to pull the tray out and get your cd back.

Mac Force Eject: Boot mac with left click on mouse held down..

If this does not work,
perform an SMC and PRAM Reset;

Disconnect all cables (including power) from your imac for 20 seconds..
then reconnect..

Press power button, then straight away press and hold four keys; 'Option', 'Command', 'R', 'P'.

The loading chime will repeat.. then hold the left click on the mouse..

Good luck to you!
