Laptop wont start.

I have an E-155C Gateway; at first it would not show me anything on the screen when I turned it on. They I took out my hard drive and I could hear something moving inside so I changed it and put in a new one. Now when I turn it on I still get the something nothing on the screen. I put my XP CD to try to boot and nothing would happen, the screen still remained dark. Then I took my cable from my desktop and connected it and the blue light on the screen only blinked and got nothing on the screen.
