Hi,

This is my first post...found this site while googling in desperation!

My son has just spent all his xmas money on office 2007 for his laptop, but when he tried to install it he got Error 1935, this happened when he tried to download it using the product key too.

It's a genuine copy from PC world, it's Office 2007 Home and Student, licenced for 3 pc's, it's installed fine on mine but not on his.

His is a Gateway Laptop, using Vista.I'm not really hot on all the terminology so if anyone know anything to try and know how to explain in laymans terms that would be so much appreciated.

I'm going to have one very disappointed little boy if I don't get this sorted by morning :)

If the laptop has a trial of Office Home & Student on it, which it most likely probably does, fire up Word and put your code in there, you shouldn't need to do anything else apart from restart Word and activate the software over the internet.

Failing that, go into Control Panel -> Programs & Features. You can remove Office from here. Restart the computer, pop the disk in and follow the instructions.

Thanks, I've tried all that, I think it originally may have had a trial version on it, and i installed a copy which i then found out wasn't genuine so all of those have been removed soome time ago, still not able to install this though.

I know it should just start up but it doesn't!

Any ideas for fixes please?
