Malware and Spyware Cleaning Guide(help through process)

I read through Malware and Spyware Cleaning guide and started with step one. I didn't have any problems until I got to System Restore, when I try to download(double click it to run) my computer goes to 100% and just sits there stalled, it doesn't do anything. So I skipped the System Restore and continued following the steps and the next problem was the Rootkit scanner. I downloaded it successfully but when I tryed to run it the cpu went to 100% and just stuck there.

I have norton and have tried downloading dozens of the free spyware removers nothing is working. Whenever I click a link in yahoo it takes me somewhere else. Computer will not open certain programs because cpu is 100%.

Please help I'll be patient if it takes weeks.
