I have an old Epson EPL 5000 from 1993 which only has a parallel port.
I already have a parallel to USB cable, but my laptop doesn't recognize it at all.
I have installed it through the USB001 port and I've tried connecting an other printer through the cable and it worked fine, so the cable is ok.
I'm running windows XP, I've tried to print from command prompt as I followed the windows debug but to no avail.
The drivers for the printer are available from windows update, and the printer has worked fine with an other computer with a parallel port.

Thanks in advance.
