ya you definatly can't go wrong with newegg. But if you're really concerned about $2 here $5 there, Tigerdirect.com is realistically the only other place that can match the quality of service and price. Amazon.com gets lucky every once in a while. Most of your "mainstream" parts are going to be pretty close in price.
The biggest thing you need to keep an eye on is shipping costs. Saving $5 on a part might cost you $10 more for shipping. Again, this is where newegg pulls ahead because you can usually find combo deals and special offers. even if its not the cheapest individual price, you can usually get free shipping and combo deals which brings it down to rock bottom prices again.
Another good resource is Pricewatch.com.Its esentially a search engine of all the online computer hardware stores and gives you a list of prices from multiple sources. This works out pretty well if you just want 1 piece of hardware. But you plan on buying a few things, i'd get on newegg first and check to see if there's any combo deals.
With that being said, if you want PC games, Amazon.com hands down destroys pretty much everyone; including newegg.
Hope this helps
