you're incorrect...just because it's free doesn't mean it's ok for you to host the file (in general..i.e. MOST of the time it's actually NOT ok for you to host files like this)

thats not what i mean. what i mean is that when you go to install the program it gives you permission, of there will be a "readme.txt" that will give you permission. i know that i have the right then.

just to make sure you understand, when you install it it will show you the "terms and conditions". that is where it normaly gives permission.

the EULA (end user license agreement) gives you the RIGHT to install the software and use it within the confines of the EULA's policy (i.e. you can use it for personal use but not corporate use, or you can use it to do X action but not Y action) it does NOT (i repeat NOT) give you the right to distribute it (unless it SPECIFICALLY STATES that you have the right to distribute the software)

if you click on help in internet explorer and choose "about" you will see this"

Warning: This computer program is protected by copyright law and international treaties. Unauthorized reproduction or DISTRIBUTION of this program, or any portion of it, may result in severe civil and criminal penalties, and will be prosecuted to the maximum extent possible under the law

(bold added by me for emphasis)

i could spend all day looking up the rest of it but i doubt you'd get it even if i did that

you need to send an email to the owners of these applications and ask for permission to host their files. I can assure you with relative ease that they'll tell you no.
