This dumb error keeps happening to me. No matter if I am searching the internet or looking through files, it always occurs. I have ran SFC / SCANNOW, System Restore, anything! Nothing works. How do I fix it? Does running registry cleaners cause this? I am very upset right now!

Please go to the malware forum and follow the instructions at the top....Especially the CLICK HERE.

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty--and you may not be-- then post an OTListIt log in THAT forum.

Thanks for the reply,
But I am sure it is not a virus or malware. Just some weird shell violation. How can I fix? Oh yeah, and after running MalwareByte's it found nothing harmful!

Just because MBAM or Kaspersky didn't find anything, doesn't mean something isn't hiding

I think its best if you head to the Malware Removal forum just in case. If your PC is clean, you can return back here

The problem event name is: APPCRASH and the Application is : explorer exe. Application version: 6.0.xxxx
You don't say what OS you have. If it is Windows 7, you need to be running IE7, IE8 is not compatible and makes Windows 7 crash for no apparent reason. If you're running Vista , get IE8, IE6 has too many holes and bugs for Vista and the increased security of Vista will shut the OS down to aviod further problems.
As far as Reg.Cleaners are concerned, some clean out more than they should, specially if you're running a cleaner that is not rated for your OS. You don't specify what OS you have. You might what to go to Majorgeeks.com, on the menu in the left hand corner go to all in One Tools and download TuneUp Utility 2010 or any one that best fits your OS.
I don't mean to sound simplistic, However, many problems with windows have simple fixes.
Hope this helps.
