I've got tons of stuff on this computer. I downloaded Microsoft's AntiSpyware beta and it detects spyware that regenerates itself on reboot. Norton's tells me it's found 2 trojans that are both noncleanable (delprot.sys and isrvs.exe). I've followed your instructions up to the point of the Hijackthis log which is as follows:

Your system has multiple serious infections. This will probably be a lengthy task to accomplish for you under the present conditions.

Please print out or copy this page to Wordpad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order in which they are mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes.

The following is the first part of a two-part fix for the "ISRVS" infection

1. I need to disable your Microsoft AntiSpyware Real-time Protection as it may interfere with the fixes.

Open Microsoft AntiSpyware.
Click on Tools, Settings.
In the left pane, click on Real-time Protection.
Under Startup Options uncheck: Enable the Microsoft AntiSpyware Security Agents on startup (recommended).
Under Real-time spyware threat protection uncheck: Enable real-time spyware threat protection (recommended).
After you uncheck these, click on the Save button and close Microsoft AntiSpyware.
Right click on the Microsoft AntiSpyware icon on the taskbar and select Shutdown Microsoft AntiSpyware

2. Run HijackThis. Click on "Config...", "Misc Tools", "Open process manager". Select the following files and click on "Kill process". Answer Yes to the "Are you sure..." question.

desktop.exe

edmond.exe

ffisearch.exe

3. Launch Notepad, and copy/paste the box below into a new text file. Save it as fixme.reg and save it on your Desktop.

REGEDIT4

[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\clsid\{5b4ab8e2-6dc5-477a-b637-bf3c1a2e5993}]

[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\clsid\{950238fb-c706-4791-8674-4d429f85897e}]

[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\mfiltis]

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\policies\ext\clsid\{5b4ab8e2-6dc5-477a-b637-bf3c1a2e5993}]

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\system\currentcontrolset\enum\root\legacy_delprot]

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\system\currentcontrolset\services\delprot]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"desktop search"=-

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"ffis"=-

4. Locate fixme.reg on your Desktop and double-click on it.
You will receive a prompt similar to: "Do you wish to merge the information into the registry?".
Answer "Yes" and wait for a message to appear similar to "Merged Successfully".
Restart your computer.

5. Run HJT, SCAN, produce a log and post it as a reply into this thread

Good Luck,

Trevuren

I'm not sure I got Microsoft AntiSpyware shut down properly as the directions on how to shut it off you gave me didn't jive with the options on the toolbar.
The only process I found on HijackThis to kill was desktop.exe.

Hey goostar,

Do you know that there is an error in my script about MS Anti Spyware. I have been using this script since the program came out and not one individual has brought this error to my attention before you. Thanks.

It should read Click on OPTIONS, Settings.

All the rest works, I just did it on my machine
--------------------------------------

So the bottom line is the fix did not work so please repeat the same procedures with that small change in the MS AntiSpyware script

We are apparently not having any success getting rid of the ISRVS with the fix I tried so until I can figure a new one out, let's concentrate on the sesond biggest:

[KavSvc]

I need you to run the following programs and post the resulting logs when you are finished. In other words, I need 3 reports posted at once when all is finished.

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order in which they are mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes.

1. Download FindQoologic-Narrator.zip save it to your Desktop.
http://forums.net-in...=post&id=134981

Extract (unzip) the files inside into their own folder called FindQoologic. preferably to your desktop
Open the FindQoologic folder.
Locate and double-click the Find-Qoologic.bat file to run it.
When a text opens, post it in a reply to your thread.

2. Download the RKFiles.zip from here:
http://skads.org/special/rkfiles.zip

Create a new folder called c:\Antispyware\RKFiles
Extract the contents of RKFiles.zip into this new RKFiles folder.

Then,

1. Reboot into Safe Mode

Restart and press the F8 key a few times after the BIOS loads -- the first thing you see when the pc "comes alive" and does its "self test" -- before windows loads).

2. Open the C:\Antispyware\RKFiles folder

* Locate and double-click the RKFILES.BAT to run this tool.
* Sit back and wait untill its finished.
* When it is finaly finished a text file will open.
* Save the contents of that text file.

Note: It should save by default to C:\Log.txt
* Find this log, right-click and rename it RKFiles_log.txt so you can post it later.

3. Reboot back to Normal Mode.

4. Post both logs as well as a new hijackthis log.

Regards,

Trevuren

Man, either me or this computer is stoopid. I downloaded and unzipped the Qoologic folder and ran the batch file. I got a black screen that said wait til something shows up. Then I get a window called "C:\Windows\System 32\cmd.exe" that says:

C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.

Am I opening the proper file?

Sorry, I wrote that down wrong. The error window that popped up was called "16 bit MS-DOS Subsytem" and reads
C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.

I tried to close the program and to ignore the message and it just kept coming back

Oh [bleep], I didn't give it enough time. Here's the scan from FindQoologic:

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL FILES FOUND BY THIS METHOD ARE NOT BAD FILES, THERE MIGHT BE LEGIT FILES LISTED AND PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHILE FIXING. IF YOU ARE UNSURE OF WHAT IT IS LEAVE THEM ALONE.

Sorry about the downtime. I just got the RKFiles log and the HijackThis log. I'll post those here and then do the fix you suggest. Or should I wait for your reply before the fix?
