Hi CollinsLL2, what I could really do with is the make and model of your Motherboard (sometimes called Mainboard). If you let me know what the model is I can point you directly to the drivers you need. Have a look again in WinAudit to see if you can see it. If you can't find the model, the devices you have are as follows, but I would much prefer to point you straight to the files from your Motherboard Manufacturer :)

Ethernet Controller - Intel® PRO/100 VE Network Connection

Multimedia Audio Controller - SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio

Video Controller - Intel® 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller

Is this a name brand system or custom built?
Did you build it yourself?
If so was there a drivers disk in the motherboard box?

OK, well we need to know the model numer of the motherboard to be sure we are getting the right ones.

What I want you to do is download CPU-Z which will give us the details :)

To do this...
  • Download CPU-Z from here
  • Save it to a convient place like you Desktop and double click the installer
  • Remember to UNtick the Ask Toolbar as you are going through the installer
  • Once installed, double click on the CPUID CPU-Z icon on the desktop
  • Click the Mainboard tab at the top
  • Please post back with the Manufacturer and Model

ok Gateway is the make now what model is it?
That board is a most likely a OEM board so it really depends on the model of the system to find the right drivers.

Yes that is the correct one that you are trying to install. Try this method...
  • Make sure you are connected to the internet
  • Right Click on My Computer and then click Manage
  • Click on Device Manager on the left hand side
  • In the right hand pane, Right Click the Yellow question mark which should say "Multimedia Audio Controller"
  • Click Update Driver
  • Click Yes, this time only, then Click Next
  • Click Next to Install this software automatically
  • If Windows has the driver available for that device it will download and install it for you.
See if this works :)

To change Onboard Peripherals
Reboot the system and at the first post screen (where it is counting up memory) start tapping the DEL button
This will enter you into the Bios\Cmos area.
Find the Advanced area and click Enter
If not in the Advanced Area then look for Onboard or Integrated area.
Once you find it then scroll to the Audio and highlight it. If not Enabled then look at the bottom of the screen to see how to modify or Change the value.
Once that is done then click F10 to Save and Exit
You will prompted to enter Y to verify Save and Exit. Click Y and the system will now reboot with the new settings.
