Hey everybody,
lol starlight I know what you mean, this whole ordeal has been rather tiring but thanks for the suggestion ill give it a try when i find time and than post back.
Ya mohsin ive considered that to and that might be the case but even if their is an available update and it finishes installing than mcshield.exe is still running at 100% CPU. Also im pretty sure the update process is something along the lines of mcupdate.exe or sumthing.
Hey starhawk i got my HTJ log fixed on the malware removal page but its still being retarded so any other suggestions would be great. Also thanks for the help on the .AVI codes (my bad about the second topic).

Hey everybody,
Ive given up the fight with mcafee and have now switched to AVG and Zonealarm and everything is running great. Thanks for all of your help on this subject.
Just one concern though. When i go to Zone alarm it has an area that monitors my antivirus and it says there is no detectable antivirus running. Also does AVG block viruses or just scan?
Thanks

Hi again Random Guy
AVG and Zonealarm is a better idea anyway. Sorry about Mcaffee, you should at least tell them about it. I'm glad ya got the spyware cleaned out. It's normal for Zonealarm free version not to recognize AVG as your AV program. That's not a problem. AVG scans and blocks viruses. It'll alert ya when and if it detects one. Just remember to keep it uptodate and let it do a full system scan now and then. I do it often, mostly cause I scan with everything often. I probably don't need to because I don't take risks online very often. Sometimes very rarely I go to hacker web sites hunting for some kind of info and that's a bit dangerous. But that's not even once a month. Also any file I download I scan with AVG (right click it and choose Scan with AVG Free). AVG and zonealarm have been a great combo for me no problems using it at all.
Glad we could help and did ya solve the AVI code thing?
