Ive got a problem with another pc i have here.... friend brought it over for vid card upgrade, went to download latest drivers BEFORE installing new card, IE would not open... (IE is what his better half uses, he uses FF) opened task manager, iexplore.exe is running, CPU is at 50%, and mem usage stops at 1768k... I let it sit for a few hours to see if it ever opened (started drinking and forgot about it) and ended up killing the process... next morning, tried again, same thing, tried FF, CPU @ 50%, mem usage @ 4580k... window NEVER OPENS!!! utorrent can access internet, messenger, windows update and a few other programs, all access internet... but browsers are locked out, will not open. Ive tried reinstalling java, because limewire (java based?) would show the splash screen and then close... IIRC, that was a java update that needed to be installed a few years back, thought it was the same thing again... still no luck.... any help would be appreciated, would like to get this fixed

have checked for viruses, trojans, rootkits, cant find anything...

Win XP MCE Version 2002 SP3
mcafee security suite by comcast
AMD Athlon 64 x2 dual core processor 6000+ 3.01Ghz

NVidia GeForce 7300SE
latest utorrent
limewire uninstalled successfully
