Proof what something simple like not saying Please and Thank you can do for even a piece of machinery. :)

I had an old car once and if you didn't talk nice to it, it wouldn't start :)

You have no idea how much bad language I have directed toward this printer in the last 6 months, it must be my fault. :)

It would constantly say "Paper Jam", however all I had to do to get it to print was open the lid and close it again. Within the last month, though, we had to send through the job and then go and use the manual paper feed, it just wouldn't do it by itself. I guess it was trying to hint to us it wanted to retire.

Honestly I think the printer was a bit over 10 years old, you know it's old when you can find native Windows 95 drivers for it on the manufacturer's website!

I just installed finishing the new one, this time the boss wanted it in his office instead of the server room however now I'm really going to laugh if this one blows up as well!

Now this I would pay to see happen. Come in and his office looks like someone powder sprayed it. That would be hilarious.

yeah... you better move that thing out from under there, or put it in a trash bag with just enough opening for the paper. :)

It was a Canon, not a HP, but still...

Just remember to use your manners and you'll be right. :)

There was a printer in an office I worked in. It was temperamental, to say the least.
Someone suggested talking nice to it. Someone else suggested naming it. There was a
brief discussion as to the 'gender' of the printer (to help narrow down the name list).
I then proposed a name that didn't imply gender, and suited the task of the printer.
We called the printer 'Paige'. Paige worked well from that point on. *Shrug* Go Figure.
