apache2....?

ok now i am very good with software, thats all my site is about, and its all i do...i look at sofware and see if i will at least use it once in my life, if so than i uninstall and keep the .exe lol. well this one confused me, i dont know what it does. so...what does apache2 do? i know that you can host your website your self with it, so i dont need any info there (i have how to steps lol)

well heres what i really want to know:
ok with my website i have it "redirected" by "dot.tk" but my real sites domain is "webege.com" so when i set up apache what URL do i use? kitkin15.tk? or kitkin15.webege.com?

and, sense i have a hosting service...do i need apache? and if so than what for?

those two are basicly all i need to know, this program is cool ,takes up little space, and i think i am going to set it up on my aunts computer so my brother can run a website from her computer =)
