GoPDM is an application developed by an engineering company, Fawcett @ www.gopdm.com, for internal use and provided free to the market. It ran fine on a 32-bit computer, but now I need to install it on a 64-bit machine (standalone). Installation appears to complete without problem. When I try to open the software an error message displays, "GoPDM has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience"

Fawcett says the problem is that the Firebird client they install doesn't run on 64-bit machines. Firebird's website says since ver 1.5 it does. So, I'm stuck. Fawcett, not being a developer, probably won't invest much time to address this issue.

I really would like to use GoPDM!

Does anyone have an idea of what can be done in this situation?

Thanks.

Have you updated Firebird? In most cases software designed for a specific version of a 3rd party program will work on newer versions of that program.
