First off, thank you for your time. My computer, a Dell with Windows XP, has recently gained a virus off of a flash drive. Obviously, I will never stick a flash drive in a public computer (especially a school computer) ever again. Anyway, the problem seems to be a process called 'rundll32.exe'. I have checked, and it is not the actual rundll32 that Windows comes with. I have followed the steps in the spyware and malware removal guide up to the rootkit. At that point, my computer just shuts down if I try to run it. My computer no longer has internet as well (posting from my sister's laptop). It's not the cable or router. While I was not able to download OTL, I do have HijackThis. I would be immensely grateful for any help, for although my registry is backed up, I am still afraid of messing my computer up by acting alone. Thanks again.
-a very careless person

Edit: Somehow, it's finally gone, and my system is clean.
