computer wont stop thinking

I have a computer that is only a few months old and has plenty of memory on it and i also save most of my music to an external hardrive. But just recently when i click on any icon the little blue thinking circle comes up and wont go away EVER.
I reboot snd it does the same thing i restore and it does the same thing.
Please help
