Ok. Let's try this:

1. Go to Office Button > Word Options > Advanced > Show Document Header
2. Untick (if ticked) Show Text Boundaries


If that doesn't work, try this:

1. Go to Tools
2. Select AutoCorrect Options
3. Click the AutoFormat As You Type tab
4. Uncheck the Border Lines option in the Apply As You Type section

We are not beaten just yet.

Besides, if worst comes to worst then you can always uninstall and reinstall. That would get rid of the box for sure.


Give this a go:

1. Go to Tools > Options > View Tab
2. Click All
3. Press Ctrl + A
4. Then press Ctrl + Q


I have a new question. If you create a blank document, is the box present? Or does it only appear after you start typing?

Keep faith. We will get rid of the box.

You will see a yellow box around an icon. Please make sure that box is unchecked/not selected.


Let me know if that fixes the problem.
