ProView 900W Monitor problem

i have my 2007 ProView 900W Monitor plugged into my Xbox 360 through VGA cables, but when i turn my xbox on, or hit the power button on the monitor to give it power, it comes on for a few seconds, but then goes black, but the power light stays lit. i've turned all the lights out, and used a flashlight to see if it was a backlight problem, and it wasn't,i'm not sure what to do, i need help :\ anything helps.
