I would have told you that if i had been the one to have you run the test but remember this statement:

Thanks for the help. Even if i sort of did my own thing during the entire time and didn't follow any of your advice tongue.gif

You ran it so I never got the chance to send the instructions which would have said how to end the test :) :)

:)

Memory it as. Fitted the new one and boom, everything works 100%.

Now for this PC... start a new thread or ask a quick question?

Quick Question : The laptop has a "Wireless LAN" button at the bottom which basically switches the lan on/off. Is it possible that the desktop has the same thing or does a PCI Card sort of install and enable itself? Drivers are all installed.

Desktop will not have that button.
On the desktop look at the back of it and see if you have what looks like a large telephone line connection. If do then you have a network adapter already in the system.
If not then you may have to install a nic card.

Yeah i got one of those, i want to connect to my laptop via my desktop wirelesly. is that possible? From one PCI Wireless card to another built in wireless card? like LAN, except with no cable.

My LAN cable doesn't feel like fiting through the door and I'm not about to drill holes into the door frame.
