When I initiate a shutdown or restart, the system hangs at the "system shutting down..." message. If I shutdown soon after a reboot, it will shutdown successfully. If I shutdown after the system has been running for awhile, it hangs and I have to force the shutdown. What should I look at that could be causing it to stay at this stage?

go to start > run >type in cmd then hit enter

type in shutdown -r -f -t 05 then hit enter
