hardware update program

I have a 3 year old toshiba laptop with windows xp sp3 and i was wondering are there any programs that i can download to find drivers that need to be updated and to be able to update them? I tried going through device management and updating some there but it hardly ever finds an update.

You don't need to update them if things are working fine.
With all due respect if your TV is working fine you don't go and change the remote control just for the heck of changing the remote, do you? You change it because it's broken or whatever.
