I'm getting the following stop code error about every 20 minutes.

Recently installed iTunes, Mozy online backup, Western Digital external drive with Smartware

Recently un-installed WD external drive and Smartware.

STOP: 0x00000019 (0x00000020, 0xE9DA8370, 0xE9DA8390, 0x0C04040D1)

Any suggestions?

thanks!

When you access the internet is this when the error is happening?
If so take a look HERE
as Microsoft has a hotfix for it.
Let us know if it works for you.

Ran the hotfix but got this message:

Setup has detected that the version of the system installed does not match the version number of any of the updates that are packaged in this hotfix.

OK let's try this a different way.
  • Please download the Event Viewer Tool by Vino Rosso VEW and save it to your Desktop:
  • Double-click VEW.exe
  • Under 'Select log to query', select (as appropriate):
    • Application
    • System
  • Under 'Select type to list', select (as appropriate):
    • Error
    • Information
    • Warning
Then use the 'Date of events' or 'Number of events' as follows:

Either:
  • Click the radio button for 'Number of events'
Type 3 in the 1 to 20 box (or any number from 1 to 20)
    Then click the Run button.
Notepad will open with the output log.

  • Click the radio button for 'Date of events'
In the From: boxes type today's date (presuming the crash happened today) 13 07 2009
In the To: boxes type today's date (presuming the crash happened today) 13 07 2009
    Then click the Run button.
Notepad will open with the output log.
Please post the Output log in your next reply

You have Symantec like Norton AV, Firewall or anything like that?
It seems to be at least part of your problem.

I was running Norton AV, then stopped it because I had to reboot the system.

OK then we need to test what I believe is the problem.
Lets see what you have in your startup

Please click on
Start and then to Run
Type in msconfig and press Enter
Now click on Startups
Then uncheck everything that has to do with Nortons and\or symantec and restart.
If system boots correctly and is running smoothly and faster then we have a startup problem

Post back with the results

When the stop error happens, I hear a sound like the system is checking the floppy drive then I get the BSOD.

BSOD comes up and then you can boot into windows?
If not try booting into Safe Mode and changing the MSConfig back to what it was before.
