when I plug in my camera, ipod, or zennano(which is also a music player) to the USB port the computer recognizes that it is plugged in and it says the device is working fine, however when you go to my computer the device doesn't show up...never had this problem before, not really sure why it is happening. Any help would be much appreciated.

01-nospleen- peripherals not shown up (1-18-2010)

Nospleen – Welcome to GEEKS to GO

First Tell us about PC
TYPE – Laptop or Tower or Desktop – Self Built
Manufacturer - Model
Operating System Service Pack Installed
Motherboard - Manufacturer & Model

The USB Devices that you mentioned – Do they have Power Cradle w Power Supply or are they all
USB BUS Powered - -

When you Plug in the USB Device – Do you receive – New Hardware Found –
Message?

Just try this . . .

Power Down PC – Plug in 1 of your USB Device while PC is OFF–

Then Reboot PC –

Now did you receive – New Hardware message & has it been installed now - ??

Thanks,

I have A Dell dimension desktop 4700, Windows XP, not sure what company the motherboard is but everything that came with the dell is dell. The USB devices are powered by the tower, if thats what you mean...sorry I don't think I fully understood that question. One thing I thought I should also add is that I have an Iomega external hard drive and when I plug that in to my computer not only does the computer recognize it but it also comes up in my computer, where as my other devices do not.

Yes when I plug into the device is does say found new hardware found.untitled1.JPG
