I have windows 7. Today i borrowed a webcam from a friend. It was supposed to be a plug and play type thing. But there are no drivers and it will not work.
Can someone help me with this? =[

Hey Bibax. :)

What is the model number of the webcam?

I would suggest checking out the Logitech website:

http://www.logitech..../home/&cl=au,en

If you have the model number then you can use the search box in the top right corner to locate your webcam on their website. If they have any drivers for download then you will be able to find them. :)

Also, when you plug it in, do any lights flash on the webcam?

it looks like this.

I don't have the model number. All my friend gave me was the actual webcam. That was it.
I've already tried that site. I used the driver for Windows 7, 32 bit, and it installed and everything, but it wouldn't show up. Like, it wouldn't read my webcam , as a cam. And it said that there was no cam connected. It was weird.

Ah thank you. Very helpful.

Hmm. I don't believe so. no lights.

Hey again.

Ok. So you tried the driver from the website and found it didn't work?

Is your computer 32 bit or 64 bit?

Ok. :)

Just for some background information, it was obviously working for your friend. What system was your friend running?

When you plug the webcam in, does Windows ask to install any drivers or software? The software you installed from Logitech, is it just a driver or does it come with a program as well?

Follow these steps to go to Device Manager:

1. Plug in the webcam
2. Right-click My Computer then select Properties
3. Select the Hardware tab
4. Click the Device Manager button
5. Look under Imaging Devices
6. If it is there, uninstall it and reboot
7. Plug in the webcam again and it should install with a new USB driver

USB devices have to be installed in a specific order. Unlike other connections the USB device can not be connected when loading drivers.
Uninstall any drivers you have.
Then reboot the system back into normal mode.
Load drivers and reboot if requested to do so. Then and only then do you connect the device into the system. If all is right you will get a popup about a new USB device has been connected.
Let us know if this works.

That didn't work. I tried it. Nothing happened. It said that it was installing the drivers, but it failed.
I'll try what rshaffer61 said.

Here is the link with your drivers:

I had the same problem, but I found it by the Hardware's ID.

I just downloaded the YouCam trial because I need the dual webcam feature. I can select either webcam (9000 or 500) with the settings function but when I try to use the dual cam function I get the message "YouCam could not start the dual video".

Cyberlink promptly responded with the usual "make sure the web cams are working...installed...not used by Skype, etc."

It almost works. I just plugged each Logitech cam into a USB port and they work fine...One at a time. Skype can see the Cyberlink camera splitter in "options" and will use it as a webcam.

I'll post any response that I get from Cyberlink. Everything else in YouCam seems to work fine.
