I am trying to help my parents repair Windows XP Home, SP2. They recently downloaded SP3, then restarted, but it will not reboot at all. We got a copy of the recovery disc from Dell, but as soon as it boots from CD, it goes through installing some files then stops and displays an error message. The first time it said the dpti2o.sys file was corrupt, hit any key to continue. Hit a key, takes you to the F12 boot screen, still can't boot (not is safe mode, not in normal mode, not with last known good config., nothing just BSOD). The next few times it does the same thing, but displays dmio.sys file corrupted, hit any key to continue with the same results. We cannot load Windows. Someone else posted the same problem and was told to run Repair mode from the CD. We cannot get the CD to fully install and cannot get to the Repair/Restore options menu screen or to Windows. Thanks!
