Hi
I have intel motherboard DG43NB it was working gr8 untill i was useing Win vista Today after i installed Win xp i installed all drivers successfully including sound driver,but when i play audio file sound doesn't work.
I am attaching some pics plz check them and help me out.

nop when i bought it from shop he gave me with Vista but when i changed to Xp it is not working in it.but when i again installed vista sound was f9 it's only not working in xp

Do you have a drivers disk for the motherboard?
Go HERE and get all the drivers which some maybe newer for that motherboard.
Let me know if it helps.

Also just so i can see what you have going on please do the following:
Please Go to
1: STARTand the click on RUN
2: Type in devmgmt.msc
3: Click Enter

To do a screenshot please have click on your Print Screen on your keyboard. It is normally the key above your number pad between the F12 key and the Scroll Lock key
Now go to Start and then to All Programs
Scroll to Accessories and then click on Paint
In the Empty White Area click and hold the CTRL key and then click the V
Go to the File option at the top and click on Save as
Save as file type JPEG and save it to your Desktop

PCI Device is probably the Sound card you are missing.
Did you go to the site I linked ot above and get the audio driver for your XP?

OK then lets make sure the audio is enabled in the bios.
Reboot the system and at the first post screen tap the Del key normally and it should get you into the BIOS
In there find either the Advanced, Onboard or Integrated Peripherals areas.
Using the keyboard arrow keys scroll down to the Audio entry and make sure it is Enabled and if not then look at the bottom of the screen it will tell you how to adjust or modify the values to Enable it.
When done make sure to click F10 to Save and Exit with the setting.
You will then be asked to click Y to Verify the Save and Exit
The system will now reboot with the new settings saved.

esc_43 Please do not re-quote everything. Its not needed and is distracting and hard to read.

Lets see if I get this right because its confusing.

You started with Vista and the sound worked.
You down graded to XP and sound does not work.
You went back to Vista and sound works.
You are now back in XP and sound does not work.

Is this correct?
If so, I will tell you that down grading is very difficult because the companies do not build drivers for XP on the newer computers.

Did you install the board chipset drivers? This is where you have to start.

Hello I have Windows XP SP2 I have DG43NB Intel. I was installing Board Drivers from the using the cd express installer. The installer installed audio drivers & it was written successful & when it was installing other drivers my pc restarted due to come hard disk problem anyways when windows restarted.
Windows is showing All audio drivers installed but there is no sound, no icon of sound at the right bottom near clock.
I tried to uninstall it but there is no option. I tried to reinstall it but it saying you have current audio drivers. I have tried almost everything i have checked from Bios audio is enabled. From the website of intel through JAVA it detected that i have current audio drivers. I downloaded around 60 mb audio drivers setup & it installed audio drivers & asked for restart, after restart it still the same.

Now i can see only 1 option left & that is reinstalling windows. If there is any other option to enable audio on my pc Please let me know.
