Sorry to be a pest with another post but this one is actually about my own computer.

Last night the computer which is a desktop computer was running fine and we left it on. It was downloading and I had an itunes update pop up..

This morning when I woke up my computer wouldnt wake up from idoling so I manually shut it down..It booted back up and then all of a sudden went to a blue screen that said it had shutdown to prevent damage to windows and that it could be a possible hardware problem...So I shut down manually again.

Attempted to boot up and delete my itunes..When I did same blue screen popped up.

I booted into safe mode and I wasnt able to delete my itunes ran an antispyware program and it found nothing...

Booted back up to my usual way and the computer started..itunes then pooped up with another update i ignored and same blue screen popped up again...

And then I booted my computer back up went to control alt delete went to processes...saw a few svchost.exe attempted to stop one got an error that windows was shutting down in 60 seconds...rebotted again and stayed on for a minute then same blue screen with the warning...

Someone pleaseeee help me please...!

Hello Chrissy86,

While the name svchost.exe can be used by malware it is also an essential part of Windows.

It will show in Processes probably a number of times.

Now

You will probably have to do this in Safe Mode.

  • Please download OTL to your Desktop
  • Double click on the OTL icon to run it. Make sure all other windows are closed and to let it run uninterrupted.
  • Under the Custom Scan box paste this in:
    netsvcs
    %SYSTEMDRIVE%\*.exe
    /md5start
    eventlog.dll
    scecli.dll
    netlogon.dll
    cngaudit.dll
    sceclt.dll
    ntelogon.dll
    logevent.dll
    iaStor.sys
    nvstor.sys
    atapi.sys
    IdeChnDr.sys
    viasraid.sys
    AGP440.sys
    vaxscsi.sys
    nvatabus.sys
    viamraid.sys
    nvata.sys
    nvgts.sys
    iastorv.sys
    ViPrt.sys
    eNetHook.dll
    ahcix86.sys
    KR10N.sys
    nvstor32.sys
    ahcix86s.sys
    nvrd32.sys
    symmpi.sys
    /md5stop
    %systemroot%\*. /mp /s
    CREATERESTOREPOINT
    %systemroot%\system32\*.dll /lockedfiles
    %systemroot%\Tasks\*.job /lockedfiles

  • Click the Quick Scan button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan won't take long.

When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows. OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt. These are saved in the same location as OTL.
Please copy (Edit->Select All, Edit->Copy) the contents of these files, one at a time, and paste them into your reply.

Note: Unless otherwise instructed always post the logs in the forum. If reports don't fit on one post. It might be necessary to break the logs up to get them on the forum. Just use as many posts as you need, that's fine. :)
