cannot install hardware after first time failed

I tried to install my usb pedometer . When I plugged it into the computer a window popped up, i unknowingly clicked " yes, this time and everytime i connect a new device" I was supposed to click, " no, not this time" The installation failed. I uninstalled the software and reinstalled it but now when I connect the USB pedometer, no little window pops up. How can I get this installation window to come up again? My computer isnt even recognising that I have connected this device.
please help me

This sounds like basicly the same problem I have trying to install a new printer/fax/scanner/copier. Machine won.t recognize hardware and cannot find software. Maybe when one of us gets an answer, we can share.
