ATTN MODS! I am new to the forum and I am seeking immediate help from anyone familiar with this virus.

This happened several weeks ago to my daughter's computer and she desperately needs it. An anti virus program was loaded on the machine after the infection and a day later the broadband internet connection was lost. I have tried numerous times to get a connection, but it will not find one. Also, my browser's homepage has been changed to" about:blank" and will not change. After I try to attempt to click "try again" to find the connection instead of "work offline", it shows the address in the browser as being "res://fddmn.dll/http_404.htm". I have no idea what to do and have attempted to follow directions at the top of this forum.

Here is the HijackThis log for reference.

hi and welcome to geeks to go,

First lets get the computer back on line. It appears that yoru anti-virus program is what has prevented the computer from getting online.

I did a little research on your anti-virus program you got, the reviews were not that good, here are the ones that I have found.

http://www.download....9-10368051.html

based on this information I am suggesting you uninstall WinAnti-virus Pro 2005.

then post a fresh Hijack This log and we will get you completely cleaned up. Also please let me know if your computer was able to get back online or not.
