Upgrading from windows Vista to 7

Hi All
I have recently upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 its working ok for now. I noticed that a file called windows old. was created,
1. is this an important file?
2. if not can I delete it?
3. I see programs in there that I had from vista that are not in 7 is there a way to restore and use these programs, some of which i no longer have the CDs for

1) It is your old Vista installation.
2) If you don't want it, delete it if there's nothing in there you want.
3) No.
