Hi there.

I can't believe I haven't been able to figure this out in 20 minutes of trying....

So, I want to play a movie from my laptop onto my TV, but the audio only seems to go as high as my laptop will go (not very). I'm using an HDMI cable. Any ideas on how to get the audio louder and/or controlled through my TV volume?

This is on my Vista machine.

Thanks in advance :-)

most laptops do not support audio over the hdmi. Hdmi is video only. You would have to go from your audio out on the laptop (headphone jack) to the component audio input on the tv.

Thanks, but I fixed it. Under Control Panel > Sounds, I was able to switch the default from laptop speakers to HDMI device, which played the sound and controlled the volume via my tv
