Hi fellow geeks

I have some issues on MS SharePoint 2007 of which maybe someone can assist with.

I copy a sharepoint link & paste onto my e-mail.
I e-mail the link to a friend.
When he opens the link, he is taken to the root directory or folder of sharepoint & not to
the path or folder where i selected the link from.

Can someone advise on what i am doing wrong here???
