Howdy, Well while working on the computer I had a electricity blackout and when I restarted I had the infamous windows\system32\config\system error. So went into the recovery console and repaired it. When booting after that it would go past the windows logo and hang with an frozen VGA sized cursor. No task manager access. Safe Mode the same but with safe mode in the corners. I then used a copy of Ultimate Boot which allowed me to restore to a point two days past. But it then still goes just past the logo, black screen, but now with a proper sized moveable cursor but still no Task Manager access. I've used various tools to explore the disks and all seems to be in order, the partitions are correct, files are present.
