Has that machine ever been able to boot Ubuntu? I had assume it had, but that could be a mistake. I have a Compaq computer that will not boot Ubuntu
and there is nothing wrong with the machine, other than it is a Compaq.

You might try Knoppix or some other version to see if it works with your machine.

Weel it's the same thing with me. It's a compaq computer so im guessing it can't run it?

Not that I know of, but you can use other versions. I am not sure of what the issue is, but I have seen issues with various models of Compaq with RedHat (CD issues, floppy issues). Knoppix works fine though, as did Mandrake.
