Humanity struggled for many years to overcome the devastating effect of the nuclear holocaust. Eventually, a researcher made his way to the site of the train wreck that had started it all. While searching through the debris, his foot touched the small body of the Ant, flicking the switch to "On", and the Ant was as good as new.

The researcher then scooped up the Ant along with some nearby soil while collecting a sample from the area. The sample was later subjected to radiocarbon dating, which vaporized the Ant.
