Ever since I bought my Moebius laptop (XP) used I have never been able to connect to the internet via its 56k modem. Not exactly, I can often connect and it reads at a decent (relatively) speed, but then it takes 5 minutes for google to come up and if I then click on news or whatever, it goes to the offline mode page. I connect to the internet here via a 56k modem on my desktop. So I copied the exact same set up I have on my desktop, same max port speed, same buffer transmission and reception levels, same port com etc, but nothing. The modem diagnosis says everything is functioning fine, etc. Then I bought a usb external 56k modem thinking the problem was the modem, I installed the driver tried it out nothing, changed the settings, and still nothing. I have had two different IT specialists spend a good amount of time trying to figure it out, switching all the different variables and nothing. Both of them recommended the same thing, reinstall windows. I would rather not do this if possible, the computer works fine otherwise, and since I bought it used, it did not come with any of the installation discs. I have a brand new copy of XP but have none of the drivers. Please help, this is driving me crazy, thanks Daniel
