lost icons

Have no idea what happened, have done everything suggested from restarting in safe, to trying to manually get my screen back to where it was before all this happened. On restart this Control Center scan begins, it will not close without task manager assistance and that is also the only way Ican access internet explorer.No icons

Hi Earlita ...

try this first...
1. Right-click the desktop.
2. Point to Arrange Icons By.
3. Click Show Desktop Icons....
nojoy...
try system restore...go back at least a week before the problem started...
if neither of those work tell us what happened just prior to the problem ...like adding any new hardware or software or windows updates... ect
