Where can i find the program that takes pictures of my desktop so i could send to my friends through I.M. or e-mail?

My friend travis had one of those...i was chatting with him online, and like 2 minutes later, he sent me a picture of his desktop and it showed everything he was doing as i was chatting with him, it also showed our I.M. window, and i thought it was pretty cool.

you dont need a program, you can just take a windows snapshot, all you need to do is push the windows flag next to the alt button and find the "prnt screen" button near num lock, when you press those 2 together it takes a picture of your computer and then you can go into the PAINT program and hit paste and theeres your screen <_<

But with program you can define an area to take picture for. I have SnagIt 7, with that, you can also take a picture from a text and video clips. Smaller program is ScreenHunter or something. Try google to find them.

Well, if he wants it on a messageboard, he'll have to have it in a .GIF format or a .JPG, which Windows doesn't provide.
