Hey there,
I've got all sorts of pop-ups and system stalling going on here. It's driving me crazy! Getting these Trojan warnings from AVG every couple of minutes and non stop warnings from start up monitor. Every time I remove programs in control panel they re appear after I reboot. Need this computer for work and it's really slowing me down. I've never had any problems like this before. Got it(the computer) off work to work at home, in case the "addoceo" references are confusing you...Until my little brother got on this computer at the weekend and caused havoc...I think he should survive the light strangulation and embarassment!
A friend told me about this hijackthis program and I found you guys on google. So any help would be greatly appreciated. I've run adaware and spybot search and destroy a couple of times. Each time they find loads of bugs and seemingly get rid of them, but when I reboot..they're back causing misery again.
Help!

Hi KateyG and welcome,
Go easy on the young lad

Please download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite here:
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/
Install it, and update the definitions to the newest files. Do NOT run a scan yet.

Please download Nailfix from here:
http://www.noidea.us...050515010747824
Unzip it to the desktop but please do NOT run it yet.

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

For additional help in booting into Safe Mode, see the following site:
http://www.pchell.co.../safemode.shtml

Once in Safe Mode, please double-click on Nailfix.cmd. Your desktop and icons will disappear and reappear, and a window should open and close very quickly --- this is normal.

Then please run Ewido, and run a full scan. Save the logfile from the scan.

Next please run HijackThis, click Scan, and check:

Hi Don77, thanks for the reply....

I followed your instructions word for word. Printed them out. Then went to start in safe mode. It wouldn't let me. I tried all the different options for safe mode (with networking/command promt etc.) and all these options failed. So I then tried the System Configuration Utility method. Now I can't even start it in Normal mode!!! It just keeps looping the reboot stages. Get's to the Windows Xp screen with blue loading bar, goes blank and starts again!!! Now I'm really worried? Any ideas? I'm online now on my old laptop! :tazz:

What is going on!!!!
