I just unstalled Windows XP Professional over my older version of Windows XP Home edition and now whenever i start up my computer i get this error message on a black screen. When i try to reboot it just displays the same message right under it.

Sorry CAUTION5697

Looks like you will have to reinstall either Home or Pro...sounds like the boot sector of the harddrive is wiped, or it is not pointing to the correct location for the starup files. Reinstalling is probably the fastest. :tazz:

Did you do a 'complete' reinstall? like format the drive and start over? if not you will continue to have the problem.
If it is the Boot record, you could try booting from a floppy, or into recovery console, and typing 'format /mbr'
That will re-write the boot record.
