Okay. So, a while back we got an HP laptop from PC World (we didn't know how bad HP actually were when we bought it, obviously).

I'm installing XP on it, and I can't find any drivers at all. The only XP drivers on their website are a driver to control the fan algorithm to stop the WLAN card from overheating (funnily enough, they won't admit that it's their fault, even though they put out a "critical" update for it).

Anyway, can anybody help me find the drivers? I need them for pretty much *everything*

Chipset, Video, Audio, Network.

HP are as useful as a chocolate teapot, so hopefully someone here will be able to help.

The model is a HP G6030EA, but I can't find out any information about the actual hardware, so I don't really know where to start (they're not all in one place for my exact model like they are for my Toshiba :))

Thanks again

Edit: Should I start downloading Vista just in case anyway? (We didn't get a CD with it and I have a legit serial on the bottom of the laptop anyway)

From everything I have found you would need to call HP and they have been providing a link to get the drivers for XP. I would suggest downloading all drivers then burning them to a cd for future use.
Use the system you are typing here with to download and burn everything and then transfer them tot he other system.

May I add that if you are not feeling content with the tech from HP that you can ask them to reassign someone else that you can work with and it will happen. I had challenges with an older model but dearly beloved printer and got the right fellow who even emailed me with answers in the middle of the night.!!

Post 4 in the following topic states to call HP and they will give you a link to the XP drivers.
And as Rshaffer61 stated, once you have them, burn them to a CD (and do not lose the CD).
