I recently installed an update and now my laptop won't boot. I should note that it had some nasty malware of some sort on it, that I didn't know how to get rid of so I left it alone. Now this happens, what should I do?

The guys in this forum seem to be having the same problem and have a better understanding of it than me, so please check this.
