I have an eMachine T6426. I was using it yesterday evening and it worked just fine.
Today I turned it on and it does not display anything but that the display is working and I need to check that the computer power is on.

I did that and it is. Then it goes black and nothing.

I turned the computer off and on again, and it did the same thing.
So I disconnected the display cable and plugged it back in. No change.
What is wrong, what can I do next?

Many eMachines die after three years because they come with inferior power supplies.
If you take the side off the case and look at the power supply inside (up the top of the case where all the wires come from) and see the word "Bestec" on it, I'll tell you now the motherboard will be dead, the hard drive won't be far away either and in severe cases the processor gets cooked as well.
