Can I use a USB hub to read multiple SD cards?

If I hook up a usb hub and connect 4+ usb SD card readers can I load footage from each simultaneously?

With all due respect, why do you need to do such a thing?
In theory, yes. In practice, possibly but not all USB devices like going through hubs.

Ok, 7 camcorders all recording 30-45 minutes of high quality footage on SD cards. The entire process is on-the-fly, so I need to get the footage as quick as possible in order to save time for editing.
